50 Year ASIAN Friendship

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Asian Friendship, which was organized in Tuy Hoa, the capital city of Phu Yen Province in south-central Vietnam On this special accasion, Victory International Education was invited to present the Phillippines culture with folk dances.

On the first night, VICS students presented a dance number called  “Pag-Apir’  it is originated from lanao del Sur ( one of the provinces in Mindanao). It is a dance which represents a stately way of walking among the Marano people. 

On the second night, VICS students performed the Salakot dance. It is a traditional dance with a wide-brimmed hat of the same name, and worn as part of the dance costume. It is considered as part of the Philippine national culture. Followed by “Mamang Sorbetero” sorbetes is the local name for arisan ice cream in the Phils. Mamang sorbetero literally means a man selling ice cream on the streets of the Philippines.
